Florida Right to Life PAC backs candidates across the Sunshine State

This week, the Florida Right to Life Political Action Committee issued endorsements and A ratings for next month’s primaries.

In three Republican statewide primaries, the PAC endorsed Gov. Rick Scott for the U.S. Senate, state CFO Jimmy Patronis’ bid for a full four year term and state Rep. Frank White, R-Pensacola, for attorney general.

In the gubernatorial primary, the PAC noted the top two Republican candidates--U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis and state Agriculture Commissioner Adam Putnam--both had A ratings. In the race to replace Putnam as agriculture commissioner, the PAC noted both state Rep. Matt Caldwell and former state Rep. Baxter Troutman had A ratings.

A host of Florida Republicans in Congress--U.S. Reps. Matt Gaetz, Neal Dunn, Ted Yoho, John Rutherford, Gus Bilirakis and Vern Buchanan--were fully endorsed by the PAC. Florida Right to Life PAC backed former state Rep. Fred Costello in the Republican primary in the race to replace DeSantis. The PAC backed businessman Scott Sturgill for the Republican nod to challenge U.S. Rep. Stephanie Murphy, D-Fla., and George Buck to take on U.S. Rep. Charlie Crist, D-Fla. In the race for the open House seat currently held by retiring U.S. Rep. Dennis Ross, R-Fla., the PAC noted that state Rep. Ross Spano and Danny Kushmer both had A ratings. With U.S. Rep. Tom Rooney, R-Fla., retiring, the PAC noted that state Rep. Julio Gonzalez and state Sen. Greg Steube both has A ratings. The PAC also backed Javier “Javi” Manjarres to challenge U.S. Rep. Ted Deutch, D-Fla., and Maria Peiro in the Republican primary to replace retiring U.S. Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen.
